As society adapts, so has therapy. Virtual sessions allow you to receive the same depth of care and transformation from the comfort of your own space. All you need is a quiet environment, a stable internet connection, and a willingness to show up for yourself.

Three Essentials for a Successful Online Session:

Tech, Space, and Face

Technology

Give yourself a few extra minutes before your session to test your setup. Check your microphone and camera, and agree on a platform that works for both you and your therapist. Common options include Zoom, Skype, Teams, and FaceTime.
Tips:
•     Ensure your device is charged and connected to Wi-Fi.
•     Use headphones if possible for better sound quality.
•     Turn off notifications and close distracting apps or tabs.
•     If possible, switch your device to flight mode while keeping Wi-Fi on.

 

Space

Without the dedicated calm of a therapist’s office, you’ll need to create your own sanctuary. Choose a space that’s private, quiet, and free from interruptions.
Suggestions:
•     Use a room that can be locked, or even the passenger seat of a parked car.
•     Make sure the area is well-ventilated and comfortable.
•     Avoid having pets in the room during your session.
•     Soft, non-lyrical spa music can help create a soothing atmosphere.

Face

Prepare yourself emotionally. It’s normal to feel nervous before starting hypnotherapy, especially online. Acknowledge any anxiety or hesitation. It’s all welcome in the session.

Before and after your session:

  • Give yourself a few minutes to settle in and decompress.

  • Avoid jumping straight into work or errands afterward.

  • Treat your session as sacred time for your healing and growth.
